An overview of the history of the fictitious character of British spy James Bond is presented. The first Bond film was "Dr. NoDr. No" starring Sean Connery released in 1962. The film was adapted from the novels of British writer Ian Fleming which were based on his World War II experiences with the British Naval Intelligence Division of Great Britain's Admiralty. The first Bond novel was "Casino RoyaleCasino Royale" published in 1953. Other topics considered include film producers Albert Broccoli and Harry Saltzman who first bought film rights to the Bond franchise, screenwriter Richard Maibaum, and actors who played Bond including Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig.
