The Living Daylights 35mm Transfer

Somewhat dirtier than some of the other 35mm Bond trailers we have, this one, for The Living DaylightsThe Living Daylights, was also missing the last 300 or so frames. Rather than have it cut off abruptly, we have restored the missing frames using the official transfer of this trailer from the Blu-ray disc.

Here is the Trailer from the Blu-ray disc that we used to restore the missing frames of our 35mm transfer:

Notice that the color is a little different. I'm not sure if this is entirely due to the fading of our print, or due to some color-grading by the studio, or a little of both. This version of the trailer is also slightly longer (containing some extra scenes) and the picture is wider because while our 35mm trailer was Flat (1.85:1), the source for the one on the disc was Scope (2.40:1).

To illustrate the differences, here is a frame from our trailer overlayed on top of the one from the Bluray - you can clearly see how much wider, cleaner (and bluer) the official trailer is:

Flat vs Scope, studio vs home-made transfer, comparision of a single frame from the James Bond 007 film The Living Daylights.
