A couple of days ago I stumbled upon an Ebay Auction for one of the actual James Bond Lotus Esprit Submarine Cars used in the film The Spy Who Loved Me
. You may recall that the motorized submersible version of the car recently sold at auction in London for $966,560 to billionaire Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors.
Well this is a different one. This one was just a shell, used as one of the effects cars during the transition from car to Submarine. It is one of two found abandoned in the Bahamas by James Bond fan Doug Redeniusin 1992. The story of how he found the cars also makes for a great read.

The Ebay auction mentioned that the restoration was featured in a TV show, which I was able to track down, and also proved to be very entertaining:

259 hours went into restoring the car at a cost of $50,000. If you would like to buy the car, it is still (as of this writing) available on Ebay for $1,000,000...
