Celebrating the release of the 20th James Bond Film, Die Another Day and the 40th anniversary of the film series in 2002, MGM Home Entertainment released seven renowned Special Edition DVDs. The Collection included Dr. No, Goldeneye, Goldfinger, Licence To Kill, The Man With The Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me and Tomorrow Never Dies.
These critically acclaimed disks featured numerous added-value elements including cast interviews, audio commentaries, making-of featurettes, music videos, original theatrical trailers, storyboards, and more. Ideal for the holidays, all seven titles were available in a collectible giftset for $124.96 or individually at $19.98. each.
This promotional video for the James Bond Special Edition DVD Box set, includes sample clips from the Special Features included on these discs, clips from the very cool menus that were created, and clips from the films themselves intended to showcase the quality of the transfers. Perhaps this content was also available on a DVD, but this particular one was on 1/4" Video Tape, which doesn't really do the DVD quality justice. Nevertheless, this tape was generously donated to The 007 Dossier by Tim, and converted from VT to digital video by our friends at TrekCore.com.
