BBC's Newswatch is a program in which viewers' opinions on the coverage of events by BBC News is addressed by the editors and decision makers in charge. In this episode, broadcast on October 23rd 2015, the deputy news editor defends the BBC's decision to cover the release of the latest James Bond film, SpectreSpectre.

For as long as I can remember, the release of a new James Bond film has always been featured on the news, both in the UK and the USA. In fact I think it's fair to say that if there ever comes a time when a new James Bond film is released and it's not mentioned in the news, the time will have come to stop making the films. James Bond makes the news because so many people around the world are talking about it. Unlike new Marvel Super Hero films which seem to be appearing at cinemas every month of the year, new James Bond films are still a rare and Special Event.
